Top Ibvpn Review Providers

ibVPN Review

Before you buy a VPN suitable for Your Needs from the first company you find, check the reviews. We test, review and rate the top services for Ibvpn Review. We want to make sure you get the highest quality Ibvpn Review, the fastest turnaround time, the best support, the lowest price, and the guarantees to back it up. Don’t waste your money on scams or poor-quality providers.

Avoid the scams and use the services that actually work below:

Best VPN's by Category

With their claim of serving over one million clients, ibVPN is definitely a VPN worth looking into. The core of their team has been working together since 2003, but they launched their VPN in 2010. They are registered in Romania, which is often considered a lenient country for VPNs due to relaxed online logging policies. They really take advantage of this with a no-logs policy.

They have a large server network with many different countries covered, and even display the bandwidth usage for each server right on their website. This allows everyone to clearly see just how full their servers are, and we saw plenty of room on them during our testing period.

They are a quality provider, but they’re just not quite up to the standards of the best VPN providers that we’ve reviewed. If they make it so their live chat is actually 24/7, as it wasn’t when we tested, and simplify their pricing, we may move them up!

Features

Our review of ibVPN’s features found them to be on par with other great VPNs, but not quite in the realm of exceptional. Features they have include:

  • A no logging policy of all online activity
  • Support for IKEv2 and OpenVPN encryption protocols
  • AES 256-bit encryption
  • Automatic kill switch
  • DNS leak protection
  • Multi-hop, double VPN capabilities
  • Supports torrenting on certain servers
  • TORoverVPN
  • Socks5 proxy
  • Dedicated IPs on request
  • Shadowsocks VPN
  • A connection wizard tool to make installation and set up easier

We wish they allowed torrenting on more servers, that way we could include them on our list of the best torrenting VPNs. As it is now, they don’t quite make the cut. They do, however, have exactly the features that every VPN needs, but they didn’t stop there as they also made sure to be compatible on:

  • Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP
  • Mac OSX 10.11 or later
  • Linux
  • Android
  • iOS 9.0 or later
  • Roku Streaming player
  • Playstation
  • Xbox
  • DD-WRT Routers
  • Sabai Routers

Most VPNs are compatible with Windows, Mac, and their mobile counterparts. Really good VPNs will also be available for Android and routers, but they have really stepped up with support for gaming systems.

Servers & countries

You will get a wide variety of server countries to choose from with ibVPN, but you won’t quite get as many total servers as the top VPNs we have reviewed. Being in 50 countries is pretty impressive:

  • Americas: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, USA
  • Asia/ Oceania: Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam
  • Europe: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland, UK
  • Eastern Europe: Bulgari, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Slovenia, Ukraine
  • Middle East/Africa: Israel, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, UAE,

That’s impressive, but at just over 375 servers at this time, they don’t actually have that many servers when compared to, let’s say, Private Internet Access with over 3100 server. This is, perhaps, the one weakness holding them back from being one of our top VPNs.

Reliability & Speed Tests

With many locations having multiple servers, you can be almost certain that there’s a backup server ready to go for you if one happens to go down. This is good for their overall reliability.

Unfortunately, they make no claims guaranteeing speed or server uptime. When providers don’t offer claims like this there’s no way to hold them accountable when things break, or to even know what to expect from them.

We also checked their FAQ section to see if they had any bandwidth, speed, or server switch limits and, well, this is what we found:

We would really like to see them step up in these areas.

Pricing & Payments

We have found the ibVPN pricing plans to be needlessly complicated. They offer four different plans, each with different features and server access. Each plan also has monthly or discounted yearly payment options. This pic will explain it:

The nuances between the packages are petty. They should just get on with it and have, at most, two different packages. This is what quality VPNs do, and quality companies as well.

They accept many forms of payment:

  • Avangate
  • Alipay
  • WebMoney
  • iDeal
  • Credit Card
  • PayPro
  • PayPal
  • Payza
  • WebMoney
  • AstroPay
  • Western Union
  • Perfect Money
  • BitCoin

It’s good to see them offer so many payment options, you never know what will work for one particular user over another.

Support

ibVPN has a decent Help Center where they offer the following types of assistance. Each type of help links out to a separate page:

  • Setup tutorials: How to get apps, browser extensions, routers, and all their other tools explained step by step.
  • Knowledge base: Details absolutely everything you’d want to know about their VPN. Everything is divided into categories based on the device or operating system.
  • Contact: They have support tickets for sales or technical help, email (support[at]ibvpn.com or sales[at]ibvpn.com), and live chat.

Their knowledge base and setups are very thorough, but it appears that live chat is only available to customers as we could not find it anywhere on their site. They say look in the bottom right of any screen, but we never once saw it.

Policies & logging

They go out of their way to state they have a no-log policy, and exist in a country which does not have laws forcing them to log. This features prominently on their site:

To get into the particulars of how they run their business, you can find everything you need to know in these three documents:

  • Privacy policy: All that they collect and store consists of the name and email address that you provide for identifying user accounts. ibVPN does use cookies on their site to track user behaviour. Absolutely no identifying information is ever shared with third parties. They don’t collect or log any traffic or use of any services, and can’t connect any specific activity with any particular user. Payments are processed by the company which does them ,so they do not have any payment details.
  • Terms of service: Here they state that ibVPN is for personal use, they have a business VPN on the side, and that it may not be used for unlawful or harmful purposes. They also make no warranty and offer it ‘as is,’ which we found off-putting. They also reserve the right to terminate your connection/contract with or without cause or notice.
  • Refund policy: They have a 15-day money-back refund policy, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee. After 15 days they may or may not offer a refund. If a technical issue arises which their tech team can’t repair within seven days they may also offer a refund.

We like how firm they are with their no-log policy, and that they take advantage of their location in Romania to escape data collection laws.

Expert recommendations

Overall, we’d rate ipVPN as above average. They have server located in 50+ countries, a great no-log policy and location for no logging being possible, and a really impressive set of features. These are all big positives for them, and we hope to see these stay as they improve and grow.

What we’d really like to see change is their overly-complicated pricing structure, their MIA live chat team, their lack of clarity on server speed and uptime, and their smaller number of total servers. We also have to admit that their website would come across as more professional if they had a native-English speaker edit the site as the grammar is poor in sections. They’re an ok choice, but we review much better providers in our Top 10 VPNs list.
